PRESS RELEASE – September 24, 2024
Damien Center, Indiana’s oldest and largest AIDS service organization, partnered with CV340B to execute an eight-week digital ad campaign to educate the Indiana community about the federal 340B program through CV340B’s Digital Engagement Campaign Together with 340B. The two-part campaign, which wrapped up last month, featured ads that educated the Indiana community about 340B’s role in substance use and mental health crises and the danger of increased taxes due to drug company’s restrictions on 340B contract pharmacy arrangements..
The eight-week digital ad campaign achieved over 1.5 million impressions and 30,000 link clicks to Damien Center’s 340B landing page. The landing page included an advocacy action where viewers can message their policymakers about the importance of 340B to their Indiana community. The educational campaign also sparked conversation on social media, with the general public sharing comments like: “Shame on [Pharma]. The time will come…karma is real.”
Alan Witchey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Damien Center, said:
“340B is vital to our organizations mission of ending the HIV crisis in Indiana. We would not be able to provide our comprehensive services that help our clients thrive without the funds brought in through the 340B program. Partnering with CV340B, we wanted to bring awareness to this vital program and its impact on HIV as well as the mental health and substance abuse crises. Together, we crafted messaging that resonated with the general public and drove them to take action, defending 340B and the benefits it offers to the healthcare systems in their communities.”
Rhiannon Klein, CV340B’s National Director of Advocacy, said:
“The overwhelming success of Damien Center’s digital advertising campaign with CV340B is the harbinger of a new frontier in 340B advocacy, one where we take the truth directly to the people who need to hear it most, the public.”
