The 340B Program was designed to help stretch the limited federal resources given to nonprofit healthcare providers across the country without raising taxes. WITHOUT RAISING TAXES.
These healthcare providers use the savings they receive from the 340B Program to provide affordable healthcare to your community.
The 340B Drug Discount Program requires drug companies to provide drugs at a discounted price to certain types of nonprofit hospitals and clinics that, in turn, use their 340B savings to underwrite the cost of serving patients in their communities. Without 340B, the cost of providing this affordable public healthcare would fall on you, the taxpayer.
The problem is that the general public is largely unaware of the program, even those who are benefiting from it firsthand. To make matters worse, over thirty drug companies are currently unlawfully restricting healthcare providers‘ access to the 340B discount, redirecting the savings into big pharma’s back pocket. That’s where we come in. Community Voices for 340B, or CV340B, is a nonprofit dedicated to educating the public about the importance of the 340B program. Read on to learn more and join us in defending 340B and, in turn, public health.
